Nets and Bird Deterrents

Netting is a very useful and economical way to guard against pests that target edible plants.

The Dalen Gardeneer Bird-X® net is made of durable 3/4" polypropylene with UV inhibitors and will not harm birds or small animals. To protect fruit trees wrap the net around the tree or drape it over tall trees using a pole to lift over tree tops. Gather the netting at the trunk and secure it with twist ties or string. To protect berries and grapes drape the net over the plants. To protect seeds, seedlings, and upright plants, elevate netting 6" or more above the plants using stakes or posts.

The Dalen Gardeneer Harvest Guard is an ultra lightweight cover that "floats" loosely over plants and is ideal for use with vegetable garden rows. Aside from protecting seedlings and plants from light frost in the spring and fall (up to 29 degrees F with a single layer, to 26 degrees F with a double layer) it also protects them from insects, birds and animals.

The Dalen Gardeneer 18" tall Great Horned owl is an excellent deterrent against birds roosting in or on decks, open porches, patios, barns, rafters, gardens and boat docks. Its realistic head bobs and turns in gentle breezes to simulate a real owl, one of the birds' most feared predators.
